Jism 2 - Music Review

Arko Pravo Banerjee composed music of ‘Jism 2’ is amazing but as a successor to Jism (2003) the tracks are disappointing. The music hit the stores on 7th July 2012 and was well received.

Yes, the tracks of Jism 2 are pretty well and soothing but of course the lack of sensuousness and eroticism in the songs is disconcerting. There are seven tracks - ‘Abhi Abhi’, Hey Walla, Abhi Abhi-2, Darta Hoon(Adhoora), Yeh Jism,  Maula and Yeh Kasoor.

Abhi Abhi

KK is the singer of this number. His reliably smooth voice seems fit to the song. Harmony adds a lot to the sweetness of the song. Further, it very well goes with the passionate mood of the film.

Hey Walla

This is a club song sung by Unoosha and composed by Abdul Baasith Saeed. The song is packed with English lyrics. It is a girl pop and somewhat catchy but it could be better. So, the song will rather depend upon body language of Sunny to be decided upon.

Darta Hoon (Adhoora)

The next song is sung and composed by Rushk. It is a Sufi-Rock ballad having with western and Indian music fusion. Melody of this song is the best part of it. Singing is very good. This song can be accepted as a song for a sequel of Jism, where MM Kream had given excellent music.

Yeh Jism

The song is sung by Ali Azmat. Average one. This is reportedly an inspired number. The dramatic singing, sensuous lyrics and simple arrangements make the song more powerful. This one can be tagged as a sexy number.

Maula

Wording of the song itself depicts its nature. It is a Sufi number again by Ali Azmat. This song is loud, intense and full of rage. Good song.

Yeh Kasoor

The song is sung by Sonu Kakkar and composed by Mithoon. It has been seen earlier that Bhatt’s definitely keep ballads by male singers. In this temper ‘Yeh Kasoor’ is a tragic romantic melody that goes well with the mood of the album.

Bottom Line

The first Musical Promo of Jism 2 titled 'Yeh Jism hai to kya' was given an A-certificate by the Censor Board and so the promo was not permitted to air on TV. The first Musical Promo was released on 29 June. However, the songs are no doubt well written and melodious.
