Madhur Bhandarkar's "Heroine" gets 'A' Certificate

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar's dream project "Heroine", starring Kareena Kapoor, has got an A certificate from the Censor Board. This controversial flick is always in headlines for one reason or other. Madhur, who has cut a hard-hitting trailer with Kareena involved in smoking and drinking in the promo was treated as a dark one. But Madhur, who has almost wrapped up shooting the film, is barely surprised. Previously, Fashion too released with an ‘A’ rating. He had expected it already, as a film which is loosely based on the reality behind the world of glitz and glamour, will get an A certificate.
"As expected got an "A" certificate from the censor board. Countdown begins for the launch of the poster and promo of Heroine," Bhandarkar posted on his Twitter page.
The movie ‘Heroine’, aims to focus on the life of an actor beyond the external layers of glamour. "Heroine" earlier ran into trouble when the then leading lady Aishwarya Rai Bachchan backed out of the project due to her pregnancy after shooting some scenes. Bhandarkar later roped in Kareena for the role.
Bhandarkar is famous for his reality inspired films like "Chandni Bar", "Page 3", "Satta", "Corporate" and "Fashion". The subject in most of his films revolves around the glamour world in an attempt to lay bare its darker, lesser-known aspects. The movie also stars Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda and is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 14.
