Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer most discussed
upcoming film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ has again created a buzz as a latest report has
suggested that the satellite rights of the film has been sold out at Rs. 75
crore. If this is true, so far this is the biggest amount paid for a Bollywood
film for its satellite rights. 75 crore rupees is such a big amount that the
total invested amount for a current Bollywood film can be earned by merely
selling its satellite rights. On the other hand Sneha Rajani, Senior Executive
Vice President and Business Head of Sony Entertainment Television says,
"Let me set the record straight. Sony had clinched the deal for the
Satellite Rights of Ek Tha Tiger almost 15 to 16 months ago, not last week or
in the recent past.
In fact, we clinched the deal even before the Yash Raj
commenced filming Ek Tha Tiger. Besides, do you think we would've paid this
ridiculous price 15-16 months ago? We wouldn't settle for it even today." Earlier,
the satellite right for Ajay Devgan acted ‘Singham’ was sold for Rs. 18 crore
and Hrithik Roshan acted ‘Agneepath’ for Rs. 41 crore. His ‘Krrish 2’ has
already been sold for Rs 38 crore. When these type topnotch films does not
crosses 50 crore for its satellite rights, the news of ‘EK Tha Tiger’ achieving
this giant amount is hardly believable. Of course, if the Salman factor works
amazingly, this is not a big deal.
